Get Meals

LSS Meals, a service of Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS), provides three meal options to the Central Minnesota region through its partnership with Hilltop Regional Kitchen. Nutritious, freshly made meals can be delivered directly to your home or you can enjoy meals served at the Hilltop Regional Kitchen shared in a community setting.

Meals are planned by a licensed, registered dietitian and are available for individuals with special dietary needs, such as those who are diabetic, vegetarian, or require low salt meals.

LSS Meals on Wheels
As a member of Meals on Wheels America, LSS Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious meals paired with a friendly visit and safety check for Minnesotans aged 60+ for a suggested donation of $4-8 per meal. Meal delivery from Hilltop Regional Kitchen is available to residents living in Long Prairie, Browerville, Clarissa, Eagle Bend, Bertha, Hewitt, Wadena, Verndale, and Staples. Some individuals may be eligible for reduced meal costs, please call 1-800-488-4146 to determine eligibility.

Designed for adults who have difficulty leaving their homes, these meals are typically delivered daily by volunteers Monday through Friday, though bundled frozen meal delivery or pick-up are also available on request. Meals are available both on a long-term basis and temporarily if you are recovering from surgery or illness. No one is denied service because of an inability to pay.

LSS Meals to Go
Affordable shipped meals are available to anyone in Minnesota through LSS Meals to Go. This service is perfect for older adults in rural areas without LSS Meals on Wheels delivery or a nearby LSS Bistro site, and individuals looking to try something new, delicious and convenient. You can select the 14 frozen meals you receive in each shipment from our menu. Learn more and view the menu on the LSS website.

LSS Bistro
Join others in your community for good food and fellowship. Come with a friend or make new friends. On-site community dining is available at the Hilltop Regional Kitchen through LSS Bistro, providing well-balanced, great tasting meals and the opportunity for social interaction in a friendly space. Community dining is available Monday through Friday with meals served at 11:50 AM, except on the first Thursday each month when meals are served at 5:00 PM.

Meals are available for a suggested donation of $4-8 per to older adults of all incomes and their guests. Learn about suggested donations on the LSS website. No one is denied service because of an inability to pay.
